Financial Accountant

Our client a leading energy business are looking to invite an experienced Qualified Accountant to join their Louth based Finance team to facilitate significant growth. This is a broad accounting position in a fast-paced industry and will cover all areas from financial reporting, financial analysis and projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role will report to the Finance Manager and will gain broad exposure to financial accounting and financial analysis.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation monthly financial reporting;
• Preparing of margin and nominal cost analysis and overheads;
• Supporting the budgeting & forecasting processes;
• Operational KPI reporting and development;
• Maintaining and managing the fixed asset register and capital approval process;
• Preparing statutory accounts;
• Liaising with budget holders and business partnering assignments;
• Working capital management;
• Assisting with the control design processes and improvements of the IT systems;
• Assisting internal and external auditors and implementing audit actions;
• Additional duties and ad hoc projects as required.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

• Qualified accounting professional with minimum 1-3 years PQE;
• Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills;
• Strong attention to detail and ability to take ownership;
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively;
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel;
• Previous experience in the energy sector or of ERP systems would be an advantage.
