Barden are delighted to be working with a renowned FMCG business in Ireland to support the appointment of a Financial Controller to play a key role in a large and growing strategic business unit based in Dublin, but operating nationwide.  Working with the divisional Directors and Group Finance this role is hands on in the provision of finance business partnering and related activity to the business as well as the oversight of financial reporting and control activities to group.  The role enjoys the autonomy of working in a larger SME with the advantages of working as part of a significant multi-billion euro business.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Responsible for presenting business updates at all relevant meetings and reporting on all the key metrics of business performance.
  • Pro-actively support commercial decisions and add value to the decision making process.
  • Ensure that key performance reporting is accessible, user focused and action orientated.
  • Ensure company is complying with all corporate governance (Capex approval, budget etc.) and identifying and escalating risk when required.
  • Support the development and execution of the business strategy and annual business plan.
  • Support the MD and management team on any ad hoc projects that arise.
  • Lead the business in the completion of the Budget, Forecast and 3 Year Plans.
  • Ensure the weekly P&L is in line with Budget or variances are understood and communicated.
  • Deliver support in understanding key sales and margin trends, attend/present at weekly meeting on same. Identify causes of issues and suggested remedies to same.
  • Ensure year end audit goes smoothly, all areas of judgement are appropriately supported and align on any key decisions with Group.

 

ABOUT THE PERSON:

  • Qualified accountant with 5+ years experience in a Senior Finance role
  • Possess the leadership qualities to help drive profitable business growth
  • Significant experience managing stakeholders and operating at a senior level within an organization
