Barden are delighted to be engaged to identify a Group Internal Auditor in Cork. Our client is a large indigenous FMCG business who are making international strides.

Internal Audit acts as the quickest gateway to understand the inner workings of a business. In this role you will business partner with departments heads (Operations, Finance, Commercial, HR, IT) and enjoy regular interaction with senior management, Audit committee and C-Suite. The business is performing exceptionally well and is extremely ambitious, with a superb reputation. The work is varied, dynamic and touches on all aspects of the business.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Responsible for delivering risk based audit strategies on behalf of the CEO.
  • Developing the Internal Audit plan including work programmes.
  • Prepare reports for senior management including findings and recommendations with a view to enhancing controls.
  • Seek areas for continuous improvements in audit methodologies with a focus on adding value to the business.
  • Collaborate with various departments to increase awareness of corporate governance.
  • Attend, present and contribute to all Audit Committee meetings.
  • Contributions towards the Annual Report and Investor Relations publications.
  • Partner with external auditors and co-sourcing providers as necessary.

ABOUT THE PERSON

  • Professional accountancy qualification or internal audit certification.
  • 3 years post qualification experience within practice or industry.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to work cross functionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively at various levels.
  • Analytical and digital mindset.
