ABOUT THE ROLE: The Category Manager will be responsible for crafting and executing a category strategy that aligns with the company’s financial goals and core ethos – keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do. This includes managing product categories, vendor relationships, and ensuring the performance and competitiveness of our product offerings.

  • Achieve annual financial targets.
  • Develop and nurture vendor partnerships.
  • Collaborate with QA, Technical, and Marketing teams on brand deployment and cross-category enhancements.
  • Monitor and improve product range performance.
  • Manage New Product Development with relevant teams.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor offerings.
  • Assess commercial performance of current range.
  • Conduct and analyse category tenders for competitive bids.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with quality and CSR policies.
  • Evaluate pricing and margin performance.
  • Represent the company at food shows and other events.
  • Work on international projects.
  • Develop promotional strategies to drive profitability.
  • Deliver budgeted branding targets.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

  • Third Level Degree in Business, Procurement, or Food-related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant commercial procurement experience (experience in the FMCG sector an advantage).
  • Demonstrated track record in applying financial and commercial skills to business objectives.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in consumer insights, competitive assessment, pricing, promotional planning, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong presentation skills.
