Chief Commercial Officer – Manufacturer, Distributor, and Wholesaler – Co. Louth

Barden have been exclusively retained by one of Irelands leading manufacturers and distributors of machine parts for the automotive industry.  With a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead their commercial operations and drive the growth and success of the business.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the company’s commercial strategy to maximise revenue, profitability, and market share.  You will lead the sales, marketing, and business development teams, fostering a collaborative environment that delivers exceptional value to customers while maintaining a strong focus on business growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Strategy: Develop, refine, and execute the company’s commercial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives. Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to drive revenue growth and maintain a strong market presence.
  • Sales Leadership: Lead and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to sales managers and representatives, driving a customer-centric approach to business development.
  • Marketing Excellence: Oversee the development and execution of marketing initiatives that effectively communicate our value proposition and differentiate us in the market. Collaborate with the marketing team to drive brand awareness, product promotion, and lead generation.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances that align with the company’s growth objectives. Evaluate potential markets and customer segments for expansion.
  • Customer Relationship Management:  Foster strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Act as a point of escalation for customer concerns and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Revenue Optimisation: Implement pricing strategies, discounts, and incentives that maximise revenue and profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyse sales and market performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Develop and present reports to the executive team.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing commercial team by recruiting, training, and developing staff. Encourage a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments such as operations, finance, and supply chain to ensure alignment of commercial activities with overall business operations.

The role is based at our client headquarters in Co. Louth with regular travel to meet with customers, partners, and networking events.

ABOUT THE PERSON:  

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in commercial leadership roles within the automotive, agricultural or related industry, with a track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective leadership abilities with a history of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse market trends and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to establish and nurture relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with CRM and sales management software.
