Barden is working with one of the world’s fastest-growing and most diverse insurance managers in Cayman. This is a unique opportunity for an accountant to join a global leader in insurance, risk management, and consulting services with more than 400 staff in 15+ worldwide locations.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Maintain client accounting and statutory records for captive insurance clients.
- Produce un-audited financial statements for captive clients on a quarterly or monthly basis, and work with the clients’ auditors to assist in the efficient completion of the annual audited financial statements.
- Prepare statistical analyses and reports as required.
- Liaise with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA”), and submit informational or regulatory filings to CIMA and the Registrar of Companies on Captive clients’ behalf.
- Issue notices of meetings of shareholders, directors, or any committees of captive client, attend meetings, and draft minutes, as required.
- Attend to all other day-to-day activities of captive clients including but not limited to liaising with the captive’s other consultants (e.g. lawyers, brokers, investment advisers, claims assessors, actuaries, tax professionals, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory and Company regulations.
- Promote an environment that supports inclusion and diversity and reflects the brand.
- Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.
- Supervise junior staff as required.
- Provide training to junior and other staff as required.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- A bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, accounting, finance, or in a related subject area
- Qualified accountant with at least 2 years of financial services experience
- The flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced learning environment
- Client service-oriented mindset and ethos
