Barden has been engaged by a London based firm to assist with the hire of a Financial Accountant. With a focus on growth which is being led by a new experienced and ambitious management team this is a unique opportunity for the right individual.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- As a member of the group finance team, the financial accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting and financial activities.
- The role will be wide-ranging, dynamic and different every day as new challenges pop up.
- Standard responsibilities will include journal postings and maintaining the Xero ledger, month-end management reporting, budgeting/forecasting, VAT reporting, regulatory reporting to the GFSC/FCA.
- Consolidation of company numbers into group accounts, in both management (business streams) and statutory (legal entities) formats.
- Preparing monthly financial reports on a timely basis for submission to the Executive Committee, including commentary and analysis of variances.
- Management of the payment functions and the payments team, approving payments and ensuring accurate recording in Xero.
- Working closely with Business area heads to build a strong relationship based on the provision of accurate and timely financial information, active and timely support and a strong understanding of business drivers.
- Monitor and manage cash flow by monitoring daily and monthly reports and forecasts.
- Assist with the annual audit process ensuring the timely production of financial information, liaison with the Auditors and production of the annual report and accounts.
- The individual will be supported throughout by the other members of the finance team. The atmosphere is one of collaboration and openness.
- There is an expectation that the candidate uses their own initiative to identify problems, issues or inefficiencies, communicates them and offer solutions.
ABOUT THE PERSON
- ACA qualified accountant
- Strong knowledge of Excel, accounting systems and BI applications
- Proven ability to integrate quickly and effectively within an organisation
- A confident communicator with a positive attitude
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills with propensity to self-manage and work independently
