Financial Controller – Construction – Co. Offaly

Barden are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by the MD of a growing construction company to support the appointment of a Financial Controller. The successful candidate will oversee the finance and reporting function for an ambitious high growth construction company. Managing a small team, you will be responsible for all finance related matters in a scaling company. This is a broad role encapsulating management of operational finance, as well as driving forward the finance transformation agenda.

 ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Manage a small finance operations team inclusive of GL, Payroll, AP & AR.
  • Manage the month end close and reporting process – ensuring on time and accurate.
  • Ensure all Finance related policies and procedures are prepared, rolled out and enacted upon.
  • Ensure appropriate system and process controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Drive system and process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Manage the statutory reporting & external audit process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collection and payment processes.
  • Develop and roll out monthly Finance KPIs .
  • Business Partner with Senior Management in producing the annual financial budget and ongoing forecasts.
  • Supporting on financial implications, identification and management of risks related to key business decisions.
  • Raise appropriate funding and establish the appropriate financial infrastructure systems and processes.

 ABOUT THE PERSON

  • Qualified Accountant with recent experience in the construction industry
  • Financial Control and People Management experience.
  • Finance transformation experience desirable but not essential.
  • Be ambitious, hard working and a team player.
  • Be very comfortable working on their own initiative.
  • Have excellent IT and project management skills.
  • Multi-tasking and ability to work against tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in managing databases and applications, Ms Office, Excel etc.
