Barden are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by the MD of a growing construction company to support the appointment of a Financial Controller. The successful candidate will oversee the finance and reporting function for an ambitious high growth construction company. Managing a small team, you will be responsible for all finance related matters in a scaling company. This is a broad role encapsulating management of operational finance, as well as driving forward the finance transformation agenda.

ABOUT THE ROLE
- Manage a small finance operations team inclusive of GL, Payroll, AP & AR.
- Manage the month end close and reporting process – ensuring on time and accurate.
- Ensure all Finance related policies and procedures are prepared, rolled out and enacted upon.
- Ensure appropriate system and process controls are in place and adhered to.
- Drive system and process improvements and efficiencies.
- Manage the statutory reporting & external audit process.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collection and payment processes.
- Develop and roll out monthly Finance KPIs .
- Business Partner with Senior Management in producing the annual financial budget and ongoing forecasts.
- Supporting on financial implications, identification and management of risks related to key business decisions.
- Raise appropriate funding and establish the appropriate financial infrastructure systems and processes.
ABOUT THE PERSON
- Qualified Accountant with recent experience in the construction industry
- Financial Control and People Management experience.
- Finance transformation experience desirable but not essential.
- Be ambitious, hard working and a team player.
- Be very comfortable working on their own initiative.
- Have excellent IT and project management skills.
- Multi-tasking and ability to work against tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in managing databases and applications, Ms Office, Excel etc.
