Barden are delighted to be working with a leading sports organisation to assist them identify a Junior Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month contract.
This role offers the chance to work closely with the Finance Manager and CEO, providing critical support across the entire finance function. You’ll collaborate with various teams across the business including Finance & Operations, Commercial & Marketing and the wider team of staff.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Oversee the automated accounts payable system to ensure accurate allocation of invoices and credit notes against budgets.
- Address supplier and staff queries related to invoices and expense claims.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial accounts and annual forecasts for various entities within the organization
- Prepare the monthly payment process.
- Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns for all entities within the organization.
- Prepare sustainability report
- Raise purchase orders and ensure they align with assigned budgets.
- Prepare income and cost reports and conduct analysis in collaboration with budget holders across the organization.
- Complete bank reconciliations for the organization’s bank accounts.
- Prepare medical refund claims.
- Complete CSO reporting.
- Provide ad hoc assistance with account analysis, general administration, and support to the finance manager.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- Approx 2 years experience in a finance department.
- Proficient communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with suppliers and colleagues.
- Excellent attention to detail, planning, and time management skills.
