Here in Barden we are delighted to be partnering with our client, a multinational pharmaceutical business. The Irish branch of this business has established itself as a financial centre of excellence in Europe employing a workforce of nearly 200 highly talented individuals.

A great opportunity to join a dynamic, exciting workforce and to be a part of their global initiative to modernize its business processes and systems. This role will be contract initially.

You will be the finance point of contact for various entities. In this role you be collaborating with various key stakeholders and reporting directly to the Operations Finance Manager for EMEA.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The main objective of this role is to provide analytical support to the EMEA teams. This includes review of budgets, monthly forecasts and actual results for warehouse and distribution costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster a strong business partner relationship with  Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics functions & Sub-functions within the Finance organization
  • Prepare monthly forecast reports for manufacturing variances linked with 3rd party warehouse transactions, monitor financial performance, understand, and explain root causes of variances versus budget, prior forecasts and prior year
  • Secure that master data is correct and collaborate with Procurement to review and validate raw material purchase prices as the basis for high quality standard costs
  • Develop operating budgets for Logistics and Supply Chain
  • Support monthly close activities in partnership with general accounting team warehouse variance analysis, inventory reserve provisions, freight and duty costs allocation/accruals and consolidation of manufacturing variance
  • Cooperate with teams to facilitate accurate inventory records for obsolescence and slow-moving stock reserves
  • Participate in projects in terms of process improvement, work proactively to institutionalize improvements

ABOUT THE PERSON:

Qualification/competences:

  • Relevant finance/accounting degree
  • At least 3-4 years’ relevant experience 
  • Strong analytics skills
  • Experience with the financial reporting cycle
  • ERP System experience required
  • Able to drive progress and meet commitments in an ethical manner
  • Analytical mindset
  • Ability to work in matrix organisation and adaptable to change as required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
