It is brilliant to see this business performing so well on an Irish as well as international stage. This is a global role and there are a number of entities involved.
This role will work closely with the wider Purchasing team with the CEO of the company and other various functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that materials are delivered on schedule, within budget, and without compromising quality standards. The ideal candidate must be able to manage supply chains effectively, balance demand versus supply, and meet revenue attainment, margin target, and inventory level objectives.
The role is based in County Cork with limited travel to the UK.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Provide prices for all materials included in project plans and drawings
- Ensure product availability at the launch of each new project in-line with business objectives
- Manage the supply chain to balance demand versus supply and meet company objectives with respect to revenue attainment, margin target, and inventory level
- Conduct re-sourcing exercises while maintaining continuity of supply to meet requirements in the event of non-acceptable price, service or quality performance
- Request quotes and samples for evaluation of potential new suppliers
- Accept responsibility for obtaining materials, assisting with the resolution of supply problems by direct personal contact with top supplier management and assisting suppliers in the procurement of scarce material
- Work closely with operations to manage lead-time capacity and optimize the supply position throughout the entire supply chain
- Solve design quality and costing problems
- Monitor inventory levels to determine required demand and adequate stock levels
- Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and an ability to analyse cost data quickly assimilate supplier processes in order to drive achievement of value for money
- Manage suppliers with price discrepancies damaged or returned material logistics and other supply issues
- Communicate and work with the accounting department on any payable issues.
- Maintain key policies and procedures
- Develop and deliver commodity strategies for future sourcing
- Ensuring for large packages that relevant tenders are reviewed and available for distribution to relevant suppliers
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- Relevant degree and a minimum of 4-5 years of purchasing or procurement experience
- Experience of design and implementation of best class standards in supply chain process
- Proven track record with vendor management with negotiation and influencing skills
- Provide purchasing/commercial input into cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and positive attitude
