We are delighted to be partnering with our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, in their search for a Senior Buyer to join their operations team here in Cork.

If you enjoy creating order from complexity, building strong supplier relationships, and ensuring manufacturing teams always have what they need exactly when they need it, this could be the ideal next step.

You’ll take ownership of planning and procuring raw materials for both commercial and clinical production, balancing cost, timing and quality.

In this role, every raw material you source helps enable the development of therapies that can change lives. You’ll be joining a team that values curiosity, integrity and working together to make a real impact. If you’re looking for a role where you can contribute to something bigger, while developing your career in a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation – this could be the one.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Enhancing and improving systems, processes and tools across the end-to-end purchasing cycle.
  • Partnering closely with procurement teams and building strong, reliable supplier relationships.
  • Managing the full PO lifecycle: creation, submission, updates, queries and closure.
  • Using ERP/MRP tools (SAP), Min/Max logic and consumption data to plan and forecast material needs.
  • Ensuring all materials are procured on time, in full, and at the right cost to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintaining accurate item data and material records in SAP.
  • Creating and delivering supplier performance scorecards and meeting regularly with supplier account managers.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and reporting insights to leadership.
  • Managing administrative tasks such as goods returns, RTVs and resolving any PO/invoice issues.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

  • Enjoys planning, structure, data and working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Builds strong relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Is naturally organised, detail-oriented and thrives with multiple moving parts.
  • Likes being the person who keeps operations running smoothly behind the scenes.
  • Wants to grow within a global, mission-driven organisation where learning and collaboration are encouraged.
