Barden has been exclusively engaged by Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy to lead the recruitment of a Senior Compliance Officer to join the organisation in Cork.
The role will be part of an international corporate compliance team, working directly with colleagues and stakeholders, including in Legal and Projects teams, across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
While hybrid and flexible working arrangements might be considered for the right candidate. there is a strong preference for candidates who can attend the office in Cork 2 or 3 times per week.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will collaborate in the continuous development of the compliance programme by providing compliance legal advice on matters of anti-corruption, fraud, AML, KYC, business ethics, amenities/gifts, conflicts of interests, competition, due diligence, etc. The role also includes delivering training to the wider business on a variety of compliance topics.
You will be a key player in supporting the company’s activities in M&A, joint ventures and other partnerships, by providing the necessary compliance advice and due diligence.
ABOUT THE PERSON
- 5+ years’ experience working on a similar Compliance position, ideally in industry or in the Big 4 accounting firms;
- Experience implementing compliance programs and dealing with anti-corruption, due diligence and risk assessment;
- Project Management experience;
- Experience advising on M&A, joint ventures and partnerships is a significant advantage;
- A background and/or qualifications in Law is a plus but not a requirement (the hiring manager is a Lawyer by education but also values diversity of backgrounds in the team).
