Barden is partnering with a well-known financial services and payments group currently hiring a Senior Legal Counsel. This company has a strong reputation as an excellent employer and a top notch legal team.

The position can be done on a remote basis from anywhere in Ireland, with the occasional office attendance only as required.

Note on start date: The organisation is looking for a 1st August start date and so ideally candidates should have no more than 2 months’ notice.

THE ROLE

The successful individual will be working across multiple global teams and regions providing support and advice to various businesses & product teams on matters such as:

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, services agreements, joint venture agreements, or IT supplier contracts such as software development and maintenance agreements and software and know how licensing agreements;
  • Advising on regulatory and compliance issues relating to financial and payment services laws, anti-money laundering laws, payment card scheme regulations and data protection;
  • Advising on and managing intellectual property matters including patent and trade mark applications and oppositions;
  • Managing and advising on general litigation matters;
  • Assisting with corporate transactional work including drafting and negotiating transaction documents, conducting/supporting due diligence and project management;
  • Advising on an ad hoc basis on a wide range of legal matters that may arise in various areas of law;
  • Supervising and directing the work of legal executive(s) and more junior lawyers and supporting their development.

THE PERSON

  • Irish qualified lawyer with significant experience in a wide range of commercial transactions;
  • 4+ years’ relevant PQE ideally gained in a top tier law firm or with a payments/financial services company (or advising such clients);
  • Excellent business judgment and the ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
