Barden are excited to be partnering with a global leader in the food & bev manufacturing space as they seek a Services and Utilities Manager. The role will represent the function on an Operational Readiness Project and will play a key part in the delivery of two major capital projects: a Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) Anaerobic Digestion project and a Whey Diversity project.

The successful candidate will be embedded within the project team, ensuring operational readiness and representing the interests of the Services & Utilities Department throughout the project lifecycle. The role will business partner a number of wider teams and will lead their area from concept through to handover on both projects.

This is one of the largest and most unique sites of its kind in Europe and would be a great pathway to getting large project exposure for a global business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of site utility requirements and project implications.
  • Advocate for practical, efficient, and high-quality project outcomes.
  • Engage daily with project engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent end-user interests during design and scoping, with a focus on EHS, training, and maintenance.
  • Define and agree on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the project team.
  • Ensure energy efficiency and sustainability are prioritized in all design and build phases.
  • Develop a comprehensive commissioning protocol and coordinate vendor support.
  • Oversee training requirements, including SOP updates and plant manual reviews.

About You:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Valuable years’ experience in utility management within a large-scale manufacturing environment (preferably Dairy, Food, Beverage, or Healthcare).
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Business Excellence methodologies.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and innovative problem solver.
  • Strong analytical and IT skills.
