Leading Tech Unicorn have exclusively engaged Barden to introduce a statutory finance manager to join their business on an initial 9 month basis. 

Working as part of the Dublin based leadership team, you will manage a team of 3 high performing individuals and report into the Senior Controller. The role can be worked fully remotely should the person desire to do so. 

As the Statutory Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for managing the statutory audit process and delivery of the annual financial statements of a number of entities. You will oversee and manage the international statutory reporting function, ensuring that financial results of international operations are reported timely, accurately and in compliance with local GAAP.

Job duties and Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership for the delivery of all statutory financial reporting requirements to ensure compliance for all international entities and branches.
  • Own the external auditor relationship and manage the external audit process for all international entities.
  • Supervise three accountants that will support the statutory reporting workload.
  • Effectively manage internal and external resources on a day-to-day basis to ensure continued project progression.
  • Provide adequate training to and oversight of the team to prepare for and execute all external audits.
  • Plan, coordinate and review annual statutory financial statements for all international entities and branches applying local GAAP / IFRS accounting guidance and working in partnership with our external accountants.
  • Establish strong and effective working relationships with all internal stakeholders (i.e. Accounting, Tax, Legal, Payroll, Treasury etc.) and external accountants and tax advisors.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, Tax, Payroll and various functional business owners to establish best practices, as well as drive on-going process refinement to improve the efficiency and accuracy of statutory financial reporting.
  • Review US GAAP to local GAAP statutory trial balance adjustments for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ownership and maintenance of the statutory books, reviewing and/or approving journal entries as required adjusting US GAAP management accounts to local GAAP statutory accounts.
  • Keep up to date with all new International Financial Reporting Regulations
  • Maintain process documentation (at least) annually to reflect changes.
  • Participate and/or lead operational or other functional projects as needed.

ABOUT THE PERSON:  

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent with 7+ years PQE.
  • Significant experience working in a financial reporting role
  • Experience working at a Big 4/ or Top 10 Accountancy firm is a plus.
  • Ability to take ownership, show initiative and provide structure in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to quickly identify challenges, prioritize, analyze the root causes, seek to understand the rationale behind current processes and propose solutions while getting buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Highly detail oriented, deadline driven and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
