Want to know more about our strategic partner firms? Our latest blog series “Meeting Barden’s Partner Firms” helps you do just that. First up is John Slattery of INSPO.
Barden & INSPO
From time to time we find a piece of magic, a kindred spirit, a like-minded soul… someone who is also working to make change happen and enable people to be the best that they can be. When we find them the natural next step is to partner to ensure we have a bigger impact, make sure the magic happens and ultimately support people being the best that they can be, especially in their careers.
One such person is John Slattery of INSPO. Back in January we were delighted to officially announce our strategic partnership with John and INSPO.
Our partnership is designed to provide strength and support to each other in achieving a unified purpose; to empower as many people as possible to be the best that they can be, especially in their career.
Here we caught up with John to find out more about him and the work that he does…
Where are you from?
Wicklow, with a Cork accent (I lived in Cork until 14 and then moved to Wicklow Town)!
Can you tell us about your professional background?
I trained as an Auditor in PwC and then spent eight years in the Business Development Team in PwC. I left PwC in 2016 to set up INSPO. I then completed a Higher Diploma in Psychology as part of building the INSPO business.
What three words best describe you?
Doing my best.
Have you a favourite quote, and if so, what is it?
It changes however currently it’s a quote by Eckhart Tolle, which is; “when the future comes, it comes as now” – i.e. we’re best to focus most on what we can do in the present moment.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I believe that we all have a superpower. That is the ability we each have to have a powerful impact in the world. The trick, I guess, that we’re all trying to work on is how to make our superpower play out in the world.
