An Update on Ailbhe’s Wish to Walk

We were part of a campaign “Recruiters for Ailbhe” to help three-year-old Ailbhe who has Cerebral Palsy have an operation to help her walk. Her father, Barry O’Leary, is the owner of the financial recruitment firm Accountancy Professionals and Niamh, Ailbhe’s Mum, also worked in recruitment.

Barry and Niamh had to raise over €60,000 quickly when the operation Ailbhe was slated to do in October of this year was brought forward to February. “Recruiters for Ailbhe” got many of Ireland’s finance recruiters together to help with the fundraising and soon the €60,000 target was met.

Ailbhe flew to the US on February 1st and had her operation on Thursday, February 6th. The operation was a major success and Ailbhe completed her physio and returned to Ireland on March 4th.

As you can see from these wonderful photos, Ailbhe is enjoying much more independence and is walking better every day. She is also the most photogenic model we know! Many thanks to Ailbhe for cheering us up when we need it most.

Good things happen to good people and she is one of the best!
