As part of this growth, they are looking to strengthen their finance team with the appointment of a Financial Accountant who will play a key role in supporting financial performance, reporting, and operational excellence across the organisation.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant looking to broaden their commercial finance experience within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll gain exposure across management reporting, operational finance, controls, stakeholder engagement, and business improvement initiatives, making this an ideal next step for someone keen to develop a well-rounded finance career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the finance function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare month-end management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Assist in the production of monthly reporting packs and financial commentary for senior management.
  • Review and manage employee expense submissions, ensuring policy compliance and timely processing.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and support robust financial controls.
  • Assist with cash flow reporting, supplier payments, customer receipts, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Partner with budget holders to understand expenditure, investigate variances, and provide financial insight.
  • Support year-end processes, external audits, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to finance transformation projects, system improvements, and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Provide wider support across the finance team and take ownership of key responsibilities as the business continues to grow.

About You

Qualifications

  • Newly qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes, management accounts, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Previous Big 4 or Top 10 practice experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.
  • Effective communicator, capable of translating financial information for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commercially minded with a willingness to contribute beyond traditional accounting responsibilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving and evolving business environment.
