We are recruiting for a Accounts Assistant & Payroll Specialist to join the finance team of a well-established multi-site retail business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of finance activities within a supportive environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Process weekly and monthly payroll across four legal entities.
- Manage accounts payable and supplier payments.
- Maintain general ledger transactions.
- Prepare weekly bank and cash reconciliations.
- Process invoices, expenses and payroll journals.
- Match invoices to supporting documentation.
- Perform debtor and creditor reconciliations.
- Support month-end activities, including accruals and prepayments.
- Maintain accurate sales and purchase ledgers.
- Assist with management reporting and finance process improvements.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a bookkeeping, payroll or accounts role.
- Strong reconciliation and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Experience in a multi-entity environment and knowledge of Sage would be advantageous.
