Barden have been exclusively engaged by a well-established distributor within Ireland and the UK who are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their expanding finance team.
This is a key hire for the finance team as the company continues to grow. The ideal individual will be an enthusiastic professional looking for a new challenge in a dynamic environment.
The Assistant Accountant will report to the Financial Controller, working closely with wider team. This role offers exposure to month-end close, financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting, with room for professional development.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Completing bank reconciliations and preparing daily cash flow forecasts for senior finance review.
- Processing daily customer refunds and settlements, ensuring accuracy before approval.
- Managing customer invoicing cycles and reconciling accounts to ensure adherence to credit terms.
- Preparing and presenting AR reports and month-end analyses, including bad debt provisioning and aged debt trend monitoring.
- Coordinating month-end activities, including intercompany reconciliations.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with finance and wider operational teams.
- Supporting audit processes with documentation for internal and external auditors.
ABOUT THE PERSON
- Accounting technician or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA);
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting role with expertise in bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll processing;
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits;
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills;
- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables), and other ERP systems.
