Barden are delighted to be selected as the exclusive recruitment partner for a growth-stage, venture-backed medical technology company in their search for a Finance Manager.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the heart of a fast-growing, innovation-led business. Reporting directly into the CEO, you will take ownership of the finance function, playing a critical role in supporting the company’s continued growth, fundraising activity, and governance as it scales.
This is a broad, close-to-the-business role, blending financial accounting and reporting with budgeting, forecasting, and direct exposure to fundraising and board-level activity – ideal for someone who wants genuine breadth and influence in a smaller, agile environment.
The role can be remote (with the availability to travel to Cork weekly) on a 4 day week.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Prepare quarter-end management accounts and year-end financial statements.
- Liaise with external advisors on statutory accounts preparation and corporation tax.
- Lead quarterly budget and forecast revisions, working closely with the CEO and CTO to ensure all business drivers are reflected.
- Build strong working relationships across the leadership team to ensure alignment on financial processes.
- Oversee cash flow and working capital management on an ongoing basis.
- Assist the CTO with R&D grant applications.
- Report and present at board meetings.
- Support fundraising activity, including managing shareholder queries and reviewing shareholder agreements and amendments with the CEO and legal advisors.
- Maintain oversight and control of funds raised during fundraising rounds, and follow up with investors as required.
- Oversee company secretarial obligations, including filing of relevant statutory returns.
ABOUT THE PERSON
- Qualified accountant, with strong technical financial accounting background.
- Experience operating in a growth-stage, venture-backed, or similarly fast-paced environment
- Strong systems experience, with ERP/accounting software exposure essential.
- Hands on, pragmatic approach with the ability to operate across both strategic and transactional finance.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence presenting to a board.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a lean team structure.
