This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function of a well established, project driven business. Reporting to senior leadership, you’ll play a central role in shaping financial strategy, strengthening controls, and driving system improvements, all while leading and developing a team. This role would suit someone who enjoys being close to operational detail while also contributing at a strategic level.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Oversee the financial management of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
- Lead and develop a small tight knit finance team.
- Own the nominal ledger structure and monthly reporting, including site, project, and departmental P&L’s.
- Collaborate with project managers to track costs and profitability across multiple concurrent projects.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements and lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and supplier payment terms aligned to project cycles.
- Prepare for and manage the annual audit process, liaising directly with auditors.
- Oversee Statutory and taxation compliance, including relevant sector-specific tax reporting and CSO returns.
- Support the roll-out of an upgraded finance system.
- Other duties behest of a Financial Controller such as acting as Company Secretary, environmental reporting, insurance, pension administration and other adhoc duties required as part of the leadership role in Finance.
ABOUT THE PERSON
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
- Strong people-management experience, with a track record of developing and cross-training a finance team.
- Excellent commercial acumen, comfortable operating hands-on across cost accounting while also engaging at a strategic level.
- Confident, personable communicator, capable of building strong relationships with project teams and senior leadership alike.
