Systems Analyst – International Business – Onsite – Dublin South

ROLE:                                       Systems Analyst

REPORTING TO:                     Director of Information Systems

LOCATION:                              Dublin (On-site)

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

Our client is a global business with their Dublin office acting a key hub within the wider group. This role will be a central, visible point of support for the Irish team on the ground in addition to working alongside colleagues across international offices.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a blended Systems Analyst opportunity with a supporting helpdesk and software support angle, suited to someone for an early career System Analyst (from 2 to 6 years) who can bring judgement, initiative, and strong communication to a fast-moving global business. The business is genuinely open on technical background; what matters most is the mindset, the ability to work through a problem with stakeholders and partners, and the confidence to know when to solve and when to escalate.

Given the global nature of the business and the split of the team between Dublin and the US, some flexibility on hours is expected.

Role Overview:

The Dublin team is the front-facing presence for the function in Ireland, so this person will be the go-to for colleagues locally and a trusted point of contact for the wider business supported by the Director of Information Systems. The role works across all areas of the business, supporting functions such as Finance and HR rather than focusing on any single department or system.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems analysis and support:

  • Support the business across a number of large enterprise applications, helping teams optimise how they use the systems available to them.
  • Lead and support projects focused on connecting these applications and improving the flow of information between them.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business to understand problems, capture requirements, and drive towards well-considered solutions.
  • Run standard projects and support activities, acting as a visible and dependable point of contact for the Irish team.
  • Act as the front-facing representative for the function in Ireland, giving the local team a clear go-to person on the ground.

Projects and requirements:

  • Gather and capture requirements, sitting with system administrators and business users to map how a process works today and where it needs to go.
  • Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and work closely with the wider Information Systems function to deliver them.
  • Step into cross-team issues as an objective third party, listening, tracking the problem through, and guiding the teams involved towards a solution.
  • Support software launches and software enhancements from requirements through to delivery, working alongside internal teams and external partners.

Helpdesk and IT support (light-touch aspect to the role):

  • Follow up on day-to-day items such as arranging hardware for colleagues in Dublin.
  • Manage the relationship with external helpdesk and support partners, who respond to tickets and set up hardware, and who work around the clock from a remote location.
  • Judge when to resolve an item directly and when to escalate to those partners.
  • Note: this is not a traditional helpdesk role and does not require deep hardware or networking expertise.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

This role suits someone with circa 2-3 years’ experience who brings sound judgement, initiative and strong communication skills. The business values attitude and mindset above a specific technical knowledge, as there will be training provided on specific systems as required.

Skills & experience:

Essential:

  • Between 2 to 3 years’ experience in a systems analysis, IT, or technology project environment.
  • A solid understanding of systems, including integration concepts, and a feel for the right questions to ask when a system or process is not behaving as expected.
  • The ability to distinguish a business issue from a technical issue, and the judgement to know when to escalate.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
  • The ability to read and interpret system and architecture diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to keep stakeholders updated appropriately across time zones.
  • A solution-oriented mindset and the initiative to work a problem through with stakeholders and partners to delivery.

Desirable:

  • A project coordinator or project management background in a technology setting.
  • Experience supporting software launches or software enhancements end to end.
  • Experience working with external vendors and support partners operating around the clock.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft fundamentals is a bonus, though full training on the relevant systems will be provided. Workday experience also a bonus but not compulsory.
  • Exposure to enterprise applications and ERP environments.

Personal attributes:

  • Takes initiative and steps in to move problems forward.
  • A strong communicator who builds trust across teams and time zones.
  • A genuine team player who wants to be present and visible for colleagues in Dublin.
  • Open and humble, with the mindset to keep learning and growing in the role.
