Here in Barden, we are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a well-established and hugely successful Irish distribution business in their search for an Operational HR Manager to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Working closely with the Managing Director, this sole contributor role is centred on supporting a team of 80 people, primarily within their warehouse and distribution centres, supporting all hiring, onboarding and related activities, while ensuring all processes are maintained to the requisite auditing standards.

About the Role

  • Stand-alone HR role reporting directly to the Managing Director.
  • Focus on managing all HR related activities within the warehouse and distribution teams and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and visa administration for new hires.
  • Handle employee relations, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance management.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, including calculating wages, deductions, and benefits.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish employment law and maintain audit-ready HR processes.
  • Manage timekeeping systems, ensuring accurate clock-in and clock-out tracking.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and records.

About the Person

  • Circa 3+ years of experience in a hands-on HR role in a busy, active, environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to navigate day to day issues and support the leadership team in matters as they arise.
  • Experience working in an audit-compliant organisation.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and hit the ground running.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
