Barden are partnering with a global pharmaceutical business as they seek an EHS Manager. The role will be the lead point of contact across the businesses 2 Irish sites and will be a key business partner to the wider business The EH&S Manager will ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations globally. This person will report directly to the Global head of EHS in the US and will get great exposure to the wider business.
This role involves maintaining awareness of current regulations, developing SOPs, training employees, and conducting audits and inspections. The EH&S Manager will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and HR to ensure cross-functional compliance and operational safety. This person can really make a difference in a business that is not just growing in Ireland, but globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion Safety: Be the go-to expert for all safety-related support and information.
- Innovative Training: Design and deliver impactful safety training programs that engage and educate.
- Proactive Risk Management: Lead efforts in hazard identification and comprehensive risk assessments.
- Dynamic Safety Analyses: Create and maintain detailed job safety analyses and risk assessments.
- Thorough Audits & Preparedness: Conduct internal safety audits and enhance emergency preparedness.
- PPE Expertise: Select and oversee the use of the best personal protective equipment.
- Safety Culture Advocate: Foster a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and committee leadership.
- Effective Emergency Drills: Plan and evaluate emergency response drills to ensure readiness.
- EH&S Leadership: Manage EH&S tasks and provide essential training to the team.
- Policy Innovator: Develop and implement forward-thinking EH&S policies and procedures.
- Incident Analysis: Review and analyze incident reports, conducting regular workplace inspections.
- HR Collaboration: Work closely with HR on workers’ compensation and return-to-work initiatives.
- Meticulous Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records and report EH&S data with precision.
- Goal Tracking: Monitor and report on the achievement of plant safety goals and objectives.
- Environmental Stewardship: Conduct quarterly wastewater reports and chemical audits.
- Travel & Influence: Travel as needed to enforce a positive safety culture across locations.
- Continuous Improvement Driver: Identify and spearhead opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years’ experience in EH&S management, preferably with multi-site operations.
- Level 7 degree in workplace safety, industrial engineering, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of HSA (Ireland) & OSHA (USA) regulations.
- Experience with HSA compliance and EHS risk management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to obtain a CIF safety supervisor certification.
- Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.
