Barden is proud to be partnering with a leading software organisation to identify an ERP finance consultant to join them on a permanent basis to take responsibility for the smooth implementation of their software and related financial solutions for their customers. In this role, you will be the go-to expert on product and finance processes, steering design sessions that shape core accounting and financial operations. You’ll help clients adopt proven best practices while handling configuration and broader solution support.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
• Lead requirements-gathering workshops and support the creation of financial process designs, including core areas such as general ledger, chart of accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
• Serve as the financial systems subject matter expert throughout the implementation lifecycle, including scoping, configuration, testing, and go-live support.
• Ensure the solution is designed and configured to effectively align with the customer’s operational needs.
• Confirm customer understanding of solution capabilities, boundaries, and agreed scope.
• Partner with customers to define requirements for system configurations, enhancements, and integrations with external applications.
• Work with development teams to clarify specifications, validate solutions, and document system changes.
• Build deep expertise in the software platform to successfully advise customers on optimal use and best practices.
• Provide input to the Project Manager on task planning, effort estimates, risk identification, and project progress.
• Train internal colleagues to support seamless project transitions into post-implementation support.
• Deliver training sessions for customer teams to enable effective system adoption and knowledge transfer.
• Conduct specialised financial module training and assist with product demonstrations to support pre-sales efforts.
• Advise customers on finance best practices, including compliance with established accounting standards, taxation, and internal controls.
• Oversee implementation readiness, including documentation accuracy and preparation of go-live checkpoints.
• Support the data migration process, ensuring accurate transfer of financial balances, historical transactions, and master data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer questions or issues during implementation and after go-live.
• Participate in project meetings to provide updates, share insights, and document key actions.
• Complete required project documentation and contribute to process standardisation initiatives.
• Maintain engagement with customers post go-live to ensure continuity and satisfaction.
• Submit timesheets in accordance with organisational procedures.
• Ensure project activities are accurately billed to the customer.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate teams or leadership as needed.
• Promote organisational values and help deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Work collaboratively with customers to manage changes professionally and proactively.
• Guide customers toward implementation approaches that support a successful transition to the new system.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a business or technology-related field.
• Professional accounting qualifications or financial certifications are beneficial.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude with strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while working independently or collaboratively.
• Confident in presenting to senior stakeholders with a focus on customer value.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
• Experience supporting or working across ERP functional domains.
• Solid knowledge of financial regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
