Barden are proud to be the exclusive partners of a highly respected Charity organisation established in 1979 with a strong sense of mission, seeking to hire a Compliance & Governance Manager.

The role will be the first of its kind in the organisation and will report into the CEO.

This position will initially be offered on 3 days per week and a 2-year fixed term contract.

THE ROLE

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Governance & Regulatory Compliance: ensuring full compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations, and developing and implementing organisational policies and procedures.
  • Service Arrangement Obligations: monitoring and ensuring compliance with all conditions and obligations, such as those related to annual funding and reporting requirements.
  • Data Protection: acting as Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring compliance with GDPR and other applicable legislation, and managing operational aspects of data protection such as Data Subject Access Requests and data breach response processes.
  • Internal Audit, Reporting & Assurance: preparing quarterly and annual compliance reports and audit reports for the CEO and Board, as well as managing the internal audit process.
  • Risk Management: leading organisational risk management processes, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated, while advising and supporting the Board and CEO on compliance and governance risks.
  • Culture & Training: promoting a culture of compliance and good governance across the organisation, and delivering staff training on a variety of compliance and governance topics.

THE PERSON

  • A highly experienced Compliance, Corporate Governance, Legal or Finance professional with relevant compliance, governance or risk management.
  • In-depth knowledge or strong familiarity with Irish charities regulations, the Charities Governance Code and GDPR.
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector or a Section-funded organisation is a significant advantage.
