Senior Data Scientist
Barden are excited to partner with a key client based in Cork as they search for an experienced Data Scientist to join their team. This will be initially on a 6 month contract basis. We are looking for someone with at least 4+ Years experience in data science but who would also have good stakeholder management experience.
About this role:
- You will help design and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to address business challenges.
- Collect and automate the extraction of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
- Part of this role will include analysing large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Present analytical findings using effective data visualization techniques.
- Translate data-driven insights into strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop data-driven solutions.
Key Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in a Data Science or related role.
- Proven expertise in building and deploying machine learning models.
- Strong programming skills in Python (or similar) for data analysis and modelling.
- Proficient in SQL and working with large databases.
- Solid grasp of machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, classification, regression, neural networks).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms as well as visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) would be advantageous.

This is a permanent opportunity; and ideally you will have 3+ years commercial experience working as a Data Scientist.
- Your experience should include proficiency in statistical and exploratory data analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques.
- You will also be proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
- If you already have good exposure with Data Visualisation tools like PowerBI and Tableau that would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP would also be highly beneficial
- This role will allow you the opportunity to work with Large Language Models (OpenAI and Gemini etc.)
- You will also be responsible for designing and building machine learning pipelines and infrastructure
Please note this is a hybrid role based in Cork and you would be required to work in the office 1 -2 days per week.
