Senior Data Scientist

Barden are excited to partner with a key client based in Cork as they search for an experienced Data Scientist to join their team. This will be initially on a 6 month contract basis. We are looking for someone with at least 4+ Years experience in data science but who would also have good stakeholder management experience.

About this role:

• You will help design and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to address business challenges.
• Collect and automate the extraction of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
• Part of this role will include analysing large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Present analytical findings using effective data visualization techniques.
• Translate data-driven insights into strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop data-driven solutions.

Key Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in a Data Science or related role.
• Proven expertise in building and deploying machine learning models.
• Strong programming skills in Python (or similar) for data analysis and modelling.
• Proficient in SQL and working with large databases.
• Solid grasp of machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, classification, regression, neural networks).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms as well as visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) would be advantageous.

This is a permanent opportunity; and ideally you will have 3+ years commercial experience working as a Data Scientist.

• Your experience should include proficiency in statistical and exploratory data analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques.
• You will also be proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
• If you already have good exposure with Data Visualisation tools like PowerBI and Tableau that would be advantageous.
• Previous experience working with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP would also be highly beneficial
• This role will allow you the opportunity to work with Large Language Models (OpenAI and Gemini etc.)
• You will also be responsible for designing and building machine learning pipelines and infrastructure

Please note this is a hybrid role based in Cork and you would be required to work in the office 1 -2 days per week.
