THE ROLE
- Advising on all applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and ePrivacy Regulations, as well as emerging regulatory frameworks;
- Supporting product, governance, marketing and technology teams on privacy compliance matters;
- Ensuring that privacy policies and procedures are compliant and implemented appropriately;
- Drafting and negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), support on response to and investigations of data protection incidents, and interact as necessary with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) and other EU supervisory authorities;
- Conducting and advising on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).

THE ROLE
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide commercially focused legal advice on a variety of commercial and regulatory matters, including around marketing and advertising, consumer protection, telecommunications regulations, digital media and e-commerce, brand and intellectual property, etc.

- Excellent experience in a regulated sector (e.g. energy, utilities, financial services/insurance, betting/gambling and FMCG) supporting marketing and advertising teams, such pricing changes, consumer protection and advertising compliance.
Barden is working with a well known business in the infrastructures/energy sector seeking a solicitor with strong commercial contracts experience to join its legal team.

The successful individual will work on a variety of procurement contracts, primarily those related to goods and services (construction, IT services, etc), as well as other supply chain matters.
The position will initially be offered as a fixed term contract (12 months), however it’s common for this business to retain employees on fixed term contracts and for opportunities to arise within the legal team.

THE PERSON
- Qualified Solicitor in Ireland;
- A minimum of 2 years’ PQE providing legal advice on commercial issues and reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts;
- Solid commercial legal training, ideally with a top tier law firm;
- Experience in energy/infrastructures, construction, or procurement contracts/legislation is an advantage but not a requirement.
Barden is partnering with a well known Irish group seeking a solicitor to join its legal team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a generalist commercial legal counsel role but there is a focus on providing advice on employment law matters.
Other responsibilities include drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts, and providing general legal advice in areas such as regulatory, insurance, litigation and ad hoc legal projects.
