This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic buying and trading team, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping category strategy, driving commercial performance, and delivering value to customers and the business alike.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Working as part of a collaborative trading function, this Buyer will take ownership of a specific product category and will be responsible for delivering end-to-end results across range planning, supplier engagement, margin improvement and commercial performance.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including supply chain, operations, and finance, and will manage one direct report.
- Full category ownership, from sales performance and margin to inventory and supplier management
- Contract negotiation and joint business planning with key suppliers
- Identifying commercial and ancillary income opportunities within your category
- Developing range plans for core and seasonal product lines
- Driving product innovation and managing product lifecycle
- Leveraging market and competitor insights to inform pricing and assortment decisions
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve operational processes and supply chain flow
- Delivering against KPIs and continuously looking for category and process improvements
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- A commercially focused Buyer with at least 3 years of experience in a buying or category management role, ideally in retail, FMCG or convenience
- A skilled negotiator with a strong track record in supplier management and commercial delivery
- Confident with data analysis and performance metrics.
- Highly adaptable with a solution-focused mindset, able to thrive in a fast-moving, change-oriented environment
- An excellent communicator with the ability to engage and influence across all levels
