Barden is delighted to partner with a leading software solutions provider in their search for a DevOps Engineer to join their Dublin team. This is a hybrid role, with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote each week. It’s a permanent position offering a strong salary and benefits package.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate provisioning and management using tools like Terraform and Helm; maintain version-controlled configurations.
- Monitoring & Logging: Set up tools like Prometheus to monitor system health and implement logging for troubleshooting.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Design and manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins for streamlined build, test, and deployment.
- Automation & Scripting: Use Bash and PowerShell to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Database Management: Oversee database snapshots, replication, and quarterly disaster recovery tests.
- Security & Compliance: Apply GDPR, ISO27001, and other security standards across infrastructure and deployments.
- Collaboration: Partner with development, QA, and support teams to ensure secure, efficient deployments.
ABOUT YOU:
- ~4-8 years of experience in a DevOps Engineering role.
Essential requirements of the role:
- Fluent in Terraform, Bash and Helm charts. Powershell is a nice to have
- Understanding of Kubernetes management using kubectl, kubeadm etc and advanced K8S concepts, controllers and deployment strategies
- Understanding of managing a private cloud or self-hosted environment of VMs running microservices, databases and other services (Redis, Consul and Hashicorp)
- Understanding of system monitoring and alerting using tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana or ELK stack
- Ability to work with the development teams to align application and Kubernetes and define areas of improvement where value is high and effort of change is low
Desirable requirements of the role
- Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with C#
- Experience with NewRelic for log monitoring and analysis
- Experience with .Net core applications deployed into Kubernetes
- Experience with PostgreSQL and database replication
