Barden is proud to partner with a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation based in the Dublin region to support the appointment of a Finance Officer.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, ideal for someone who is part-qualified in accounting or working towards an Accounting Technician qualification and looking to broaden experience in a purpose-driven environment. The role offers the chance to work within a collaborative finance team and gain exposure across reporting, compliance, ledger management, and financial operations.
The Role
Working within a busy and supportive finance team, responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation and management of VAT and RCT returns
- Supporting ledger management, including posting and reconciling income and expenditure across various cost centres
- Assisting in the preparation of journals and financial reporting
- Reconciling petty cash and company cards across multiple locations
- Ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and processes
- Preparing statutory and internal financial returns for review
- Supporting the year-end audit process
- Taking on additional finance-related duties as required
The Ideal Profile
- Part-qualified accountant or Accounting Technician (or equivalent)
- 1–2 years’ experience in a finance role, preferably within a regulated or complex environment
- Solid understanding of financial systems and controls; experience with accounting software and Excel required
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and communication skills
- Prior exposure to public funding or the not-for-profit sector is a plus but not essential
