Barden are delighted to be supporting our Client in their search for a Head of Finance to lead one of the key subsidiaries within a large group. The business plays a critical role in the Group’s geographic footprint, customer delivery and growth ambitions, and is entering an important phase of development.
The Head of Finance will act as a true business partner to the Managing Director, Group Finance Director and leadership team, helping to shape strategy, drive performance and support decision making, while also maintaining a strong, trusted relationship with Group HQ.
This is a hands on, high impact role suited to a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys being close to the business and its customers.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Act as a key advisor to the Managing Director and senior leadership team.
- Provide financial insight to support strategic planning, investment decisions, pricing and margin management.
- Help shape and deliver the business strategy, balancing commercial ambition with financial discipline.
- Support initiatives focused on customer delivery, operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
- Work closely with functional leaders across the business to improve financial understanding, performance and accountability.
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non‑finance stakeholders.
- Challenge and support decision‑making in a constructive, value‑adding manner.
- Ensure robust financial controls, governance and compliance, in line with Group policies.
- Manage relationships with external advisors
- Build a high‑performance culture with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensure the finance function is seen as a trusted partner to the wider business.
ABOUT THE PERSON
- Qualified accountant with 8-10+ years post qualified experience
- Strong experience in a commercial finance leadership role.
- Proven ability to operate as a business partner.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to influence at senior level.
- A pragmatic, hands on approach and a genuine interest in the commercial drivers of the business.
