A well-established and highly regarded organisation operating within the sustainable construction sector is seeking a Payroll & Accounts Assistant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, working across both payroll and accounts in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This position offers strong exposure across payroll, finance, and HR support functions. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting the wider finance team with day-to-day accounting activities.
About the Role:
- Review and reconcile timesheets in collaboration with Production and HR
- Process weekly payroll, including statutory requirements and auto-enrolment
- Maintain payroll records in line with current legislation
- Manage weekly creditor payment runs using Sage
- Handle RCT-related payments and maintain accurate records
- Respond to internal and external queries regarding payments and payroll
- Post wage journals and assist with financial reporting
- Process supplier invoices and support accounts payable activities
- Assist with month-end close and other finance team requirements
- Prepare employee contracts and manage starter/leaver documentation
- Provide ad hoc administrative support to HR
About the Person:
- Previous experience in payroll and accounts administration
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Comfortable working with accounting systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise across departments
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
