Barden are delighted to partner with a global organisation in their search for a Senior PHP Developer to join their HQ office in Dublin. This is a Hybrid role, with the team on-site 1-2 days per week. It’s a 6-month contract initially, perfect for daily rate contractors or temps looking for their next exciting challenge.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with every facet of the organisation’s web stack, primarily focused on PHP, while leveraging data analysis through MySQL to drive innovation and efficiency.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll dive deep into:
- The payments ecosystem and processor interactions.
- Database sharding, replication, and performance tuning.
- System stability, metrics, and integration resiliency.
- Balancing code deployment with real-time monitoring and dashboards.
- Backend payment flows, testing, and code reference checks to ensure a seamless user experience.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong PHP skills and a deep understanding of backend PHP coding and syntax.
- Problem-solving prowess who is comfortable navigating large databases and digging through complex, unclear code to find solutions.
- Architectural insight and experience contributing to system architecture and building new features.
- Testing expertise and ability to implement automated testing and participate in code reviews.
- Performance focus with keen eye on application performance, scalability, and security.
- SQL proficiency and ability to write basic SQL queries to fetch and analyze transactional data.
- Agile experience who is comfortable working in Agile environments, picking up tasks from Jira boards.
Familiarity with Big Query, MySQL, and tools like Google Suite, Workday, and Slack would be a bonus.
