Role Overview

As a Senior Site Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing on-site operations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will work closely with the Project Manager to translate designs into actionable tasks, coordinate site teams, and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations in line with project plans and specifications
  • Monitor progress and maintain detailed site records
  • Supervise subcontractors and tradespeople to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and standards
  • Lead health and safety initiatives including inductions and risk assessments
  • Set out works using robotic total stations, GPS, and surveying tools
  • Manage resources including plant, labour, and materials
  • Resolve technical issues and communicate design changes
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and authorities
  • Report regularly on progress, resources, and project challenges
  • Collaborate with clients and consultants to maintain satisfaction and quality

 

Key Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies and regulations
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD and MS Project
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure
  • Team player with strong relationship-building skills
  • Adaptable to fast-paced construction environments

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with medium to large-scale construction projects
  • Familiarity with Irish construction regulations and best practices
  • Full, clean driver’s licence
