Barden are delighted to be supporting our rapidly growing Global Pharmaceutical and Healthcare client in their search for a Planning Specialist (Pharma). Working closely with the Planning and Inventory Supervisor, The Planning Specialist will be responsible for inventory management and product supply from a number of different suppliers with production plants located throughout Europe, Asia, China and North America and across a number of markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing suppliers with monthly delivery forecast, determining order quantities in line with inventory strategies, avoiding supply disruptions and maintaining service levels.
- Develop and maintain positive relations with suppliers so as to maintain inventory levels at agreed levels and avoid supply disruptions.
- Develop and manage inventory in line with inventory strategies as agreed with the commercial team and, where appropriate, recommend and implement model changes.
- Track suppliers’ deliveries on a weekly basis, ensuring that current delivery timelines are maintained and take appropriate actions to minimise any potential supply disruptions.
- Provide monthly forecasts to suppliers within the agreed timelines, recognising the drivers for changes, and explain changes to different stakeholders when required.
- Determine mode of transport for shipments in line with business strategy, minimise the amount transported by air, and track and monitor reasons for air.
- Work closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure excellent communication and efficiencies, such as full container loads and synchronised pickup and sailing dates.
- Maintain and update planning systems (e.g., SQL database, SAP, and IBP) with current and accurate data, including new orders, changes to delivery dates, and quantities.
- Track supplier performance, identify potential issues, and implement remedial actions.
- Develop a strong knowledge of products and suppliers to identify issues early and add value to resolving supply issues.
- Perform monthly supplier MRPs and associated reports, including the generation of global inventory reports for US, UK, European, and Canadian markets as required.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- 5+ in a similar role within a multinational organisation (Regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous)
- Educated to degree level in a business / supply chain.
- IIPMM/APIC qualification is desirable.
- A thorough knowledge of MRP and inventory management.
- Experience in the use of ERP systems, (SAP).
