Barden are excited to be assisting a client in Dublin in seeking an Underwriting Strategy Manager for a role within their team. This is a permanent position.
The individual in this position will be responsible for overseeing key processes related to performance and strategy execution. They will collaborate with relevant teams to monitor progress, implement initiatives, and ensure alignment with applicable standards.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Manage underwriting performance, implement strategies to enhance profitability, and create pricing models that reflect market dynamics and risk considerations.
- Identify emerging risks, uphold underwriting guidelines in accordance with the company’s risk tolerance, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Conduct research on industry trends and competitor approaches to inform pricing strategies and uncover new business opportunities for product expansion.
- Oversee the governance process for underwriting products, ensuring that commercial offerings align with customer needs and maintain high underwriting quality standards.
- Provide support and mentorship to underwriters, encourage team development, and participate in industry events to stay informed about market trends.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- Relevant professional qualification (ACII preferred) with a robust background in mathematics, actuarial science, or technical underwriting.
- Excellent analytical skills with the capability to interpret intricate data, statistics, and pricing models.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory, legal, and market developments affecting underwriting, products, and pricing.
- Analytical and decisive, with the ability to prioritise effectively and communicate key objectives clearly.
- Proven track record of meeting underwriting targets, overseeing profitable portfolios, and driving business growth.
