Barden and CASSC are delighted to bring you the not-to-be-missed FAE Careers Evening taking place Thursday, 10th April 2025

What is the event all about?

The Barden & CASSC FAE Careers Evening 2025 is designed specifically for FAE students to answer any questions they might have about their professional futures. The evening has been structured to ensure CASSC members get access to the right information at the right time so that when they qualify, they can make informed decisions about their professional future.

Those who attend will also have the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about their professional future and visit a variety of Barden information stands to speak directly to Barden’s expert newly qualified careers team.

Who is it for? 

This event is for those who have passed FAEs and are approaching the end of their training contract. It is also open to recently qualified accountants.

About Our Speakers…

Derek Coakley | Europe Internal Control Director | PepsiCo

Derek Coakley is the Europe Internal Control Director at PepsiCo, responsible for driving the internal control agenda across PepsiCo’s West European locations. Over his extensive tenure at PepsiCo, he has held pivotal roles, including Finance Audit Director, Senior Manager for Global IT Controls, and SAP Controller, specializing in risk mitigation, internal controls, SAP implementations, and process optimization.

Before joining PepsiCo, Derek gained valuable international experience with Ernst & Young in Sydney and Merit Partners in Australia, as well as in management roles in audit and taxation in Ireland.

Armina Golchin | CASSC Chair 2024/25 | Deals Advisory Associate | PwC Ireland

Armina Golchin is the 2024/25 Chair of the CASSC and a Deals Advisory Associate at PwC, specialising in Corporate Finance and M&A. She graduated from UCC in 2022 with first-class honours in a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Banking and Finance.

Armina’s achievements include being a 2022 JMUCC finalist and divisional winner, as well as receiving prestigious awards such as the PwC Commerce Prize, the CIMA Management Accounting Prize, and the John Busteed Memorial Prize for excellence in economics.

Conor Sheahan | Retail Accountant | Retail Finance, Musgrave | Cork

Conor Sheehan is a qualified chartered accountant from Cork.

Conor began his career with KPMG Restructuring & Insolvency in Cork in the graduate programme, and qualified in 2022. Following his graduate contract, Conor moved to London and joined KPMG UK’s Turnaround team, which focused on helping companies facing challenging situations with the view to providing solvent solutions.

Conor moved back to Cork in December 2024 and recently joined Musgrave as a Retail Accountant in the Retail Finance team.

Grace Cronin | Fixed Asset Accountant | Apple 

Grace is a qualified ACA Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in Financial Services Audit, Financial Reporting, and Treasury Accounting.

Having spent two years working in Australia, she recently returned to Cork to continue advancing her career. Grace successfully navigated her transition with the support of Barden, securing the right role upon her return. She is eager to share her insights and experiences with others making similar career moves.

Siobhán Sexton ACA | Business Lead |Recently Qualified Accounting, Tax and Practice Careers | Barden Munster

Originally from Cork, Siobhán trained in KPMG Cork in the Tax Department and she is ACA qualified since 2017. Siobhán also worked as part of the Management Consulting team in KPMG Dublin during her training contract. She worked predominantly on pharmaceutical, IT and construction clients.

Following the completion of her training contract with KPMG, Siobhán joined Barden Dublin in March 2017 as part of the Recently Qualified Accountants team. In 2018 she took a sabbatical to travel to and work in Canada. During her time in Canada Siobhán worked with both Michael Page and Robert Walters Recruitment. On returning to Ireland, Siobhán relocated to her hometown of Cork and now works with our Recently Qualified Accountants team in Barden Cork.

Simon Cogan FCA | Consultant | Recently Qualified Accountants | Barden Munster

Simon Cogan FCA is a consultant in the Recently Qualified Accountants division of Barden’s talent advisory and recruitment firm in Munster.

Following the successful completion of his training contract with EY, Simon spent the next 15 years building his career in finance. Throughout his journey, Simon has garnered extensive experience across various organisations and industries, assuming pivotal positions such as Finance Director and Head of Finance. His diverse exposure has equipped him with a profound understanding of different finance functions and roles.

In August 2023, Simon joined the Barden team, where he adeptly leverages his wealth of finance knowledge to guide and support professionals in navigating their career trajectories.
