The Job Search (aka your new adventure) – Where to Start!?

The 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 (aka your new adventure) - where to start?!

If you’re keen to explore new opportunities, it can be hard to know where to start. For some it’s turning on the “Open to Work” status on LinkedIn, for others, it’s clicking the #easyapply button on a LinkedIn job post.

No matter your approach, a job search can be quite time-consuming, and the best approach can be to put a plan in place before you begin.

Here are a few things worth thinking about…

Advice – informing yourself is key no matter what decision lies in front of you. Building a relationship with a talent advisor early on in your career can help you shape the best career path for you while gaining access to current market information

CV – the easiest way to maintain your CV is to review it as often as possible and update it where necessary. Of course, many professionals will review their CV when considering a new opportunity but an up-to-date CV can be useful to keep track of learning opportunities and achievements for performance/salary reviews.

LinkedIn Profile – make sure to get the basics right! Review your profile regularly and make sure it accurately reflects your work experience (employer, role title(s), and dates of employment), education, and location.

Pen to Paper now it’s time to jot down what you’re looking for in your next adventure i.e. type of company, learning opportunities, level of role, salary expectations. Of course, your plan may change but it’s important to have a plan to work towards.
