As a Lead Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role at the intersection of creativity and business strategy. ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Utilities Design Expertise: 
    • As the lead for all utility strategic capital programs, you’ll be responsible for engineering design that serves to meet business continuity and capacity needs. Your technical knowledge of best-in-class manufacturing design will help PepsiCo meet their Growth, Sustainability (PEP+) and Nutrition targets.
  • Innovative Solutions: 
    • You’ll drive the development and delivery of new technologies and innovative solutions to optimise the PGCS concentrate business. This forward-thinking approach will help future-proof the company’s operations.
  • Stakeholder Influence: 
    • With a track record of influencing complex stakeholder matrices, you’ll have the opportunity to lead large teams of engineers across multiple sites. Your ability to collaborate and drive consensus will help drive the business to the next level.
  • Risk Reduction: 
    • By ensuring the continuity of vital services and protecting infrastructure, you’ll contribute significantly to risk reduction. Your work will directly impact revenue generation and business stability.
  • Best Practices and Sustainability: 
    • Leveraging best practices from PepsiCo divisions and other industries, you’ll create world-class performance in plant and equipment design. Additionally, your focus on sustainable engineering practices will enhance long-term viability.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • A successful Design Engineer possesses a strong foundation in design principles, CAD software, and prototyping tools.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Design Engineers tackle complex challenges. The ability to analyse problems, propose innovative solutions, and iterate designs based on feedback is crucial.
  • Collaborative Mindset:
    • Effective communication and teamwork are paramount. Design Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Precision matters. Whether it’s tolerances, material selection, or manufacturability, a keen eye for detail ensures high-quality designs.
