PepsiCo have engaged Barden to identify a Senior Design Engineer to join their Global Business Operations in Cork. The successful candidate will work closely with the business and supply chain organisation to develop innovative solutions and capacity plans that enable PepsiCo to meet consumer demand effectively. Your role as Strategic Manufacturing Solutions Engineerinvolves leveraging manufacturing ingenuity to explore process efficiencies and adapt existing plant infrastructure to achieve their ambitious production volumes. By plotting everything from the small wins to creating global initiatives you will chart the course for PepsiCo’s success, and help “Create more smiles with every sip and every bite.”

The Opportunity:

  • Capacity Analysis and Optimization:
    • You’ll lead critical analysis of capacities within the organization, identifying potential solutions to hot spots and optimizing end-to-end solutions.
    • Understanding baseline plant capabilities and addressing capacity gaps will be a key responsibility.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Translate supply chain requirements (capacity, capability, and business continuity planning) into executable projects.
    • Develop new and optimized solutions to deliver the growth agenda, supporting business case development for capital investments.
  • Collaboration and Innovation:
    • Work closely with R&D to develop innovative solutions for future growth.
    • Leverage best practices from PepsiCo divisions and other industries to achieve world-class performance in plant and equipment design.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical guidance to design teams, ensuring plant capabilities align with business continuity objectives.
    • Optimize site and equipment selection to support changes in capacity.
  • Holistic Approach:
    • Responsible for end-to-end engineering solutions, considering both existing assets and future growth needs.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemical/process/mechanical engineering or a related field is essential.
  • Proven work experience in manufacturing, typically 6 to 10 years.
  • Strong Commercial Acumen and Analytical skills required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leading and advising multiple stakeholders
