Senior Financial Accountant

A unique opportunity has opened within a leading accounting firm who offer outsourced accounting and advisory services to multinational and large local clients here in Cork.

The firm is going through significant growth and is hiring a Senior Financial Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified accountant who is interested in broadening their experience while also maintaining the support of a firm where learning and development is seen as key to the firm’s success.

While the role is with an accounting firm, the type of work you will be doing means your experience will be very aligned to a role in industry. The role will involve working closely with multinational clients and large Irish companies, liaising with international offices to provide the best possible solutions to these clients.

Responsibilities include:

This role involves leading complex client engagements that help identify, design, and implement creative business solutions across all areas of finance.

The role will include;

• Preparation of financial statements including conversion to local GAAP
• Keeping up to date with accounting and tax standards and developments locally and in other jurisdictions
• Preparing technical accounting memos and training other colleagues in this regard
• Reviewing work of more junior colleagues
• Acting as a point of contact for clients, assisting with project managing large assignments for these clients
• Liaise with auditors and tax advisors in various jurisdictions on behalf of clients
• Working closely with managers to provide high quality service to clients
• Assisting with mentoring and training of other staff members

About the person:

• A qualified accountant, ideally trained in an accounting firm
• Experience working with large or multinational companies, either in practice or in industry would be an advantage
• Experience working to deadlines and ability to prioritise workload
• Strong communication skills will be important
• A good attitude with an eagerness to learn and develop
