Barden are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, Irish-owned company in their search for an Assistant Accountant to join their growing finance team in Kilkenny.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment, gaining exposure across a broad range of financial responsibilities and developing towards full qualification.
About the Role
As an Assistant Accountant, you will:
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including posting journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Maintain key financial records such as the Fixed Asset Register and support VAT and payroll reporting.
- Help prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during the year-end process.
- Provide financial insights through ad hoc reporting and analysis.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience in a finance function, ideally in a hands-on, varied role.
- Be part-qualified ACCA (or equivalent) and actively pursuing their qualification.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
- An eye for detail, strong time management, and a positive, can-do attitude.
- A desire to grow within a supportive and collaborative finance team.
