Assistant Vice President (Captive Insurance)

Barden is proud to have partnered with a top-tier global insurance company to identify an Assistant Vice President to join their team in the Cayman Islands. The AVP is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of captive insurance accounts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The AVP will be a key relationship lead on captive insurance accounts and will have strong relationships with clients, representatives and regulatory agencies.

Specific duties include:

• Primary responsibility for the captive accounting function and conducting the final review of financial statements prepared by the team
• Act as relationship manager and liaison between client and captive service team
• Drive business development strategies, manage prospective opportunities and monitor competitor strategies
• Analyze and approve complex financial transactions
• Prepare board meeting materials and deliver impactful presentations of financial and other relevant information to key stakeholders
• Responsible for distributing work allocations and coordinating the workload of the team
• Drive operational excellence within the team and recommend improvements where needed
• Develop policies and procedures
• As a senior leader, oversee the financial audit process
• Responsible for upholding compliance and regulatory obligations ensuring applications and filings are submitted on time
• Manage and build relationships with regulatory agencies and clients
• Deliver a high level of client service

ABOUT THE PERSON

• Candidates must possess a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or ACCA or equivalent).
• Previous audit experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the captive insurance industry.
• The AVP will create policies and procedures and lead projects as assigned.
• Proven experience leading business development initiatives is essential.
