Barden is partnering exclusively with a well established and highly reputed mid-sized law firm currently seeking a qualified Solicitor to join their Regulatory & Data Protection team, either in their Cork or Dublin offices.
This is a practice in continued and consistent growth, with a strong client book particularly in the healthcare and public sector.
THE ROLE
Some of the key responsibilities of the role might include:
- Advising on a wide range of privacy and data protection matters and the applicable legislation and regulation (such as the GDPR). This will include working on matters such as:
- Data breaches
- Cyber-Attacks
- Inquiries by the Data Protection Commission
- Freedom of Information and Access to Information on the Environment requests
- Gap analysis/risk assessment/data protection impact assessments
- Advising on contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues across a broad range of regulatory disciplines. This will include working on matters such as investigations, administrative law & fair procedures.
THE PERSON
- A qualified Solicitor in Ireland;
- Ideally around 5+ years’ PQE, although the firm is open to considering candidates at various levels of experience;
- A background in regulatory advisory, with some data protection experience;
- Strong commercial awareness and exposure.
