Barden are delighted to be exclusively engaged to identify a Head of Finance & Business Performance for a large Irish organisation. This is a superb opportunity for someone who enjoys business partnering with other leaders to help drive outcomes and growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Senior finance leadership role with responsibility for financial stewardship, commercial insight, and business performance across a complex operating environment.
  • Acts as a core member of the senior management team, providing strategic financial leadership and partnering closely with group-level stakeholders.
  • Delivers clear, timely financial insight to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and operational decision-making.
  • Partners with sales and operations to drive profitability, pricing discipline, and commercial effectiveness.
  • Full ownership of the finance function, including management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance.
  • Leads cashflow forecasting and working capital management, optimising inventory, debtors, and creditors while supporting banking relationships.
  • Drives continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, controls, and data quality to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Leads and develops the finance team, setting clear objectives and fostering a high‑performance, collaborative finance culture.

ABOUT THE PERSON

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post‑qualification experience in a senior finance or financial controller role.
  • Strong background in financial reporting, governance, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Proven experience in commercial finance and business partnering within complex, operationally driven environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial analysis into clear, actionable business insight.
  • Confident, credible communicator with strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Demonstrates high standards of integrity, professionalism, and discretion, operating in line with health, safety, compliance, and organisational values.
