Barden have been engaged by one of our partners in the retail sphere to identify a IT Programme Manager to join their team on a fixed term contract basis. It will run for the duration of 12 months.
In this role, you will lead the rollout of a Point of Sale (POS) system across a large multi-site environment, managing end-to-end programme delivery, governance, and stakeholder engagement to ensure a smooth and successful deployment.
Please note this role will require 3 days onsite in their Dublin offices.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Take full ownership of a large-scale, multi-location technology deployment programme, leading delivery from initial mobilisation through implementation and transition into steady-state operations, specifically for Point of Sale deployments.
- Design and maintain robust governance frameworks, including integrated plans, financial oversight, resource allocation, risk tracking, and executive-level reporting.
- Build and manage strong relationships with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment on priorities, and minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.
- Oversee and coordinate multiple third-party suppliers and service providers, monitoring contractual commitments, performance standards, delivery milestones, and issue resolution.
- Partner with technical and operational teams to ensure systems, infrastructure, data, and security requirements are fully prepared for testing, pilot phases, and nationwide deployment.
- Direct structured site implementation activities, including readiness validation, logistics planning, installation scheduling, deployment team leadership, and end-user enablement.
- Drive effective risk, issue, and change management practices, while leading post-implementation support, early-life stabilisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
- 5+ years’ experience delivering IT programmes of work across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-site retail or hospitality POS rollouts.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional technical teams and third-party suppliers.
- Experience operating in fast-paced, operationally complex environments (e.g. multi-site service, facilities, distribution, or similar sectors).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various locations as required.
