Barden are excited to be working with a growing Irish-owned insurance firm as they look to build out their underwriting team in Dublin. This person will be responsible for managing a commercial portfolio of both direct and broker accounts; handling products such as property, liability, and commercial products.
Note: this role is hybrid – 2 days working in the office and 3 days from home.
About the Role:
- Manage diverse commercial portfolio encompassing direct and broker accounts, ensuring optimal performance and profitability.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of policy portfolios for both direct and broker clients, including pricing assessment and coverage optimization.
- Uphold rigorous documentation standards, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and regulatory requirements through meticulous file management and successful audits.
- Provide comprehensive underwriting training and mentorship to team members, fostering a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitor landscape, and effective relationship management.
- Play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of Property, Liability, and Commercial Combined portfolios, facilitating mid-term adjustments, account management, and proactive risk assessment for both direct and broker accounts.
About the Person:
- Previous experience in an underwriting position, with strong technical focus (preferred).
- Professional insurance qualification (APA essential, CIP preferred).
- Proven strong communication and organisation skills.
- Passionate about relationship-building with clients and willingness to improve and learn.
